Children

It is our desire to provide a loving, secure and friendly atmosphere for your child. Our goal is to instill Christian values and an understanding of biblical truths that we can apply to our own lives. We promote hands-on learning in an encouraging and positive approach. At Lakeside learning about God is exciting and fun!

Nursery: Our nursery provides a safe and loving environment. The infants (0-17 months) are well cared for by trained volunteers. The toddlers (18 months-2years) have an area created for age-appropriate play and learning. When you check your child in, you will receive a pager. If for any reason your child needs you, during the service, you will be paged.

K-5th grades: Our Children’s Church is designed to create top quality instruction for different age levels. Classes are taught by wonderful, dedicated teachers that challenge and encourage their students to learn God’s Word and apply it to their daily life. Through the use of dramatic storytelling, crafts and student participation, the Bible comes to life and the classroom becomes an exciting place to learn about Jesus!

Sunday Mornings

Nursery and preschool children will go directly to class during both services (8:30am and 10:15am).

K-5th grade (8:30 gathering) Parents, please check your child in when you first arrive at Lakeside. K-5th grade will meet in their classrooms at 8:30 am.  Teaching will be in the Children’s Church format with very creative, interactive, and fun curriculum. Children need to be picked up at the end of service in their classroom.

K-5th grade (10:15 gathering) “Rotation Sunday School”.  This is a 6 to 7 week study of one Bible lesson.  The children will be broken into groups, based on grade, and rotate to different stations each week. They will start by worshipping with their family in the Worship Center, and will then be dismissed after worship time.  Each week the kids, K-5th grade, will meet together and then move to different stations in order to experience exciting, creative, and multi-sensory learning environments such as drama, storytelling, games, art, science, cooking, woodworking, music, and much more!  Please pick up your children from their classroom after service.

Please meet your children immediately after the service. For their safety, children should be received by a parent or legal guardian. All staff and volunteers working with children have undergone a background check.  For the safety of the volunteer staff and the children of Lakeside, we endeavor to abide by the rule that there always be two adults in every classroom.

Wednesday Nights – “Family Night”

Our Children’s mid-week program is on Wednesdays @ 6:30 PM. Parents are encouraged to stick around.  There are classes available for adults or you can fellowship in the Lobby, or pick up a good book from the library.

Vacation Bible School

A themed event, in Summer, where children learn about Jesus through Crafts, Snacks, Games, Drama, Worship, and much more!

Harvest Carnival
Looking for a safe, family-friendly night on October 31st? We have games, booths, food, candy and lots of activities for the kids.  You are invited to join in the FUN!

Christmas Night Out
Holiday shopping?  Movies?  Dinner? Or just some time off?  This yearly December event is where we provide activities for children so parent(s) can have a night out.
