about

Lakeside Community Fellowship was started as a church plant by a young couple and about 10 people who began meeting at North Lake Middle School in 1990.  Within the first few years property was purchased and construction began on our original building in 1994.  The first gathering was held here on Christmas Eve 1996.  In 1999 and 2002 the portables were brought in to accommodate our growing church family.  In 2003 we began expansion of our Christian Education Wing and Lobby, which was completed in 2004.

Like any church (or family), we’ve had our ups and downs; but through it all God has been so faithful and we believe the best days for Lakeside are ahead!  Committed to the truth of God’s word, His love, magnificent grace and mercy, our intention is to walk in freedom becoming all that He intended for us to be.  We not only enjoy His love and forgiveness, but also a thankfulness for growing opportunities to share the good news locally, regionally, across boundaries (socio-economic, cultural, etc.) and through strategic partnerships even internationally.

Our intention is to stay centered upon Jesus.  Following Jesus is about so much more than just making a decision… it’s more like a conversation; about finding ourselves within His story; about following His ways – repentance, obedience, freedom, and commitment to the truths we find in the scriptures.  We’re also learning to live life with passion and purpose, engage our culture, and navigate the places of disagreement while loving each other and listening to each other so that everyone feels heard.  If we can work through our disagreements and come out with love and respect for one another we’ll truly have something to offer the world.  Jesus prayed that His church would be one… so that the world would know that the Father sent Him. (John 17:23)
