The next teaching series related to our Revolution 2010 vision for Lakeside begins Sunday, 28 Feb and is titled “ChurchNext: Endless Possibilities!” Just what is it that we hope the Revolution will bring? We’re centered on Jesus, on a spiritual journey of faith and love. With a ‘holy discontent,’ we’re growing in a fresh passion to help people in our area to find Jesus as their Savior, and we’re celebrating what God has done in our past with an excitement about the future.

Re-fill! Re-align! Re-commit! and Re-imagine! The possibilities are endless!

Saturday, May 1, 2010 Main Serving Day

Save the dates! Mark Your Calendars and join with multiple churches, hundreds of individuals and partner agencies from our area to serve and share with our community in practical, hands-on ways, in Christ’s name. CAREfest week 2010 kicks off with a blood drive on Saturday April 24, and concludes with the main serving day on Saturday May 1.

Getting Ready For Life

“Ash Wednesday is the day that we enter into a kind of spiritual winter called Lent. For the next 40 days leading up to Easter we remind ourselves that new life is always preceded by death. We learn anew the value of letting go, giving up the old in order to make room for the new that God will soon bring in us. Just as the trees must release their grip on each leaf and allow it to fall to the ground and die, so must we release our anxious clinging to those things that only hold us back from entering into the spring of our soul. In a sense we must surrender to the winter in order to more gloriously grasp the spring.”

I have been here at Lakeside for almost 20 years and on staff just about 14 years and I have to say that I am very excited about Revolution 2010 and to see how God will work through each of us this coming year! Imagine this entire congregation on fire for God and together being the “Jesus-centered faith community offering love and hope to the world” that God has called us to be!

For those of you that know me, one word or a sentence often sends my brain spinning in all sorts of directions – thinking, dreaming, and planning. Revolution 2010 has done just that! I find myself thinking and dreaming about the eternal impact we could make in this community if everyone at Lakeside took part in the Revolution!

I love how this is about lost people coming to know Jesus, building lasting and meaningful relationships, loving Jesus in a deeper way and most of all, seeing God move in ways we would never even imagine! I can’t wait to see how God will use me and each of you as we join the Revolution and give our very best for the Kingdom of God here in this community.

Revolution 2010: Centered on Jesus

This year of Revolution is one that we intend will find us developing whole new measures of radical faith and love that propels us into an orbit around Jesus; we’re on an intense trajectory toward Christ-centered living. The way we live is an out flow of our Christ-centered faith. The way we see the world is influenced by our Christ-centered faith. Our identity and our priorities are shaped by our Christ-centeredness.

We’re praying for a Revolution. We’re believing God for a Revolution; an uprising, a change because things that are stationery collect dust. We need a Revolution, because churches that are not in motion, churches that fall out of step with God’s Spirit are subject to the law of entropy . . . Spiritual entropy that brings deterioration, degeneration, crumbling, decline, degradation, decomposition, breaking down, collapse; disorder, and chaos.

So we need a Revolution. We need to fast and pray for it. We need to give ourselves to it. We need to dedicate ourselves to it.

Join the Revolution this year at Lakeside. Be centered on Jesus!

What’s “Reveal?”

Because we want all who come to Lakeside to become Christ-centered followers, your spiritual growth is really important to us. Whether you’re just starting to explore the Christian faith, or you’re a long-time Christ-follower, we want to do everything we can to help you on your spiritual journey.

At Lakeside, we want to do everything we can to support your spiritual growth. We want to know what’s helping you grow spiritually, and what’s getting in the way.

So we’re asking you to set aside 30 – 35 minutes later this month to take our Spiritual Life Survey. The survey will “reveal” findings that will help shape our decisions about how to create the best possible ministry strategies to serve you and the rest of our church family.

Life Groups Forming

This year our goal is to launch 8 – 10 new Life Groups. Our Life Groups offer a safe place for you to take the next steps in your walk with Jesus. Life Groups open the door for for deeper fellowship, the practice of spiritual disciplines, and act as a catalyst for faith in action.

Haiti Relief Fund

Lakeside is receiving donations to help cover medical and out of pocket costs for Katie Zook. Katie is the daughter of Greg & Dawn Zook. She was serving as missionary in Haiti when the earthquake hit, and was trapped in a collapsed building in Port-au-Prince. She’s since been evacuated and is now recovering in a hospital here in the US. Any additional funds received will be sent through our church to aid in support and recovery work in Haiti.

Make a check to Lakeside, and put “Haiti Relief Fund” in the memo. Want to mail a check? Lakeside P.O. Box 607; Lake Stevens, WA 98258
