Missional Flow
Missional Flow
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” -Acts 1:8 (NIV)
In Jerusalem
Our Jerusalem primarily includes local opportunities to share the love and good news about Jesus. Beginning in Lake Stevens, but including the greater Everett, Granite Falls, Marysville, and Arlington areas, we’re endeavoring to connect missionally right where we are.
In Judea
For us Judea would encompass regional opportunities to connect, primarily in the Seattle-Tacoma urban metroplex.
In Samaria
As people with a mission and a message, we’re offered the opportunity not only to reach people who are like us, but people who express the diversity of God’s created order. We intend to cross cultural, language, and socio-economic boundaries in Snohomish county offering the gospel of Jesus. In addition, like the story of the Good Samaritan, we are increasingly aware of social justice issues both at home and abroad, and seek to engage our world to speak for those without a voice and offer acts of compassion and peace where we can.
Ends of the Earth
As global-local followers of Jesus, we’re also growing deeply concerned about the hundreds of millions without even knowledge of Jesus. Currently Lakeside is participating in Ends of the Earth missional ministry by partnerships with missionaries sent from the US, and also with indigenous leadership:
Willson Family
Ryan, Jen, Curtis and Kara Willson arrived in Malawi in February 2007. From Ryan and Jen, “It is our heart as a family to see the Malawian people transformed, trained, and healed all through the power of Jesus Christ. We are grateful that you are on our team and look forward to the coming months and years as we work together to make a significant impact on eternity.” You can read more about their work in Africa at their blog, called FlamingWaters , or visit their page at Free Methodist World Missions.
India: Maharashtra Area
We’re partnering with an indigenous pastor in central India who is leading a church planting team among some of the most unreached people in all of the world. In addition to church planting, we’re helping to support their efforts to minister to children of very poor families.
