Katie is the daughter of Greg & Dawn Zook. She was serving as missionary in Haiti when the earthquake hit, and was trapped in a collapsed building in Port-au-Prince. She’s since been evacuated and is now recovering in a hospital here in the US. Any additional funds received will be sent through our church to aid in support and recovery work in Haiti.

Pastor Samuel Sonkamble from Latur, India was present and shared a report of the progress made on the Latur Ministry Center in the last year.  We were introduced to the 14 boys in the Anukamp (Compassion) ministry that is part of the ministry center.  Much of the money raised will go to support the development of the center and care for the boys.

Also present for the weekend were Dr. Art and Sylvia Brown.  Art is the Executive Director of Free Methodist World Missions, and spoke in our gatherings Sunday morning, 15 November.

More details to follow.  Pastor Kevin will be leading a workshop on orphan care as human trafficking prevention.
