Lakeside’s participation in this event and in ongoing intercession is crucial to our “Revolution 2010″ vision.  Here are some ways you can join in prayer with us on Thursday, May 6th:

- Time of prayer at the downtown Lake Stevens park behind city hall (Cove Park) beginning at 4:30pm
- Continued prayer at Lakeside at 6pm; with a potluck dinner to follow at 7pm.
- Consider fasting at some level during the 24 hours leading up to our 6pm prayer time at Lakeside.

WHAT?           At least 14 local churches and ministry groups in the Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Granite Falls, Monroe and surrounding areas… sharing God’s LOVE through serving our communities. There will be teams at dozens of locations in our region (shelters, food banks, schools, senior centers, city parks, etc.).

WHO?          You!

WHY?          CAREfest is hands on; anyone can participate (several projects are family-friendly); the need is great… For me, at the end of the day, there is a real sense that I’ve made a difference and that God has been glorified.

HOW?          If you have a project idea, please talk to Brenda Froland. If you want to serve on May 1, look for a CAREfest table in the Lobby very soon. There is a project that will inspire you!

Most of you will remember our friend Todd Carter Koeppen, a professional musician who has been with us a couple of times to lead worship and present the Gospel of John in music. Todd’s website is found at: http://www.toddcarterkoeppen.com

Todd is considering a new name for his ministry: “Audio Gospel.” He’s adapted some Christmas music to his style and written a few new Christmas songs, and he’ll be with us to share them on the fourth Sunday in Advent. The word “advent” in ancient times referred to a Roman Emperor’s arrival in Rome as the new emperor. The Emperor would enter the city with all of his glory, with captives of war, with the riches of the empire. The early Christians adopted this concept and applied it to the arrival of Christ, our King, and true ruler. Therefore, we celebrate Advent – a four-week time of preparation just before Christmas. It’s a time to prepare for Christ’s first coming as a baby. But it’s more than that. It’s also a time for us to remember his arrival in our lives as our savior and to also anticipate the second coming.

Look for the Giving Tree in the Lobby beginning this Sunday, November 15th. On this tree you will find 3 different colors of ornaments to benefit different community group needs. You can then choose one or more ornament! All gifts need to be returned to Lakeside by Wednesday, December 16, 2009.

SONGS OF ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS
Our teaching time this Advent will focus on the songs of the prophets, Mary, the angels and others. A great way to prepare during Advent is to read the prophecies about the Messiah and the songs found in Luke and Matthew. Meditate on them and come prepared to sing anew about, to, for, and because of our Saviour Jesus.

Class options at the 8:30 AM gathering:

Nursery/Toddlers: Care provided in the Nursery/Toddler room beginning at 8:30 AM

Preschool/Pre-K: Class provided in Room 112 beginning at 8:30 AM

**Kindergarten – 5^th grade: Meet together in Room 110 for Children’s Church at 8:30 AM

6^th-12^th grade: Meet together at 8:30 for Worship in the Worship Center and then there will be class in the N. Portable following worship.

Adults: 1 class option will be offered and will begin at 8:30 AM in Room 109

Class options at the 10:15 AM gathering:

Because we believe that it is important to worship together as a family, everyone will have the opportunity at this gathering to worship together and then be dismissed for classes following worship time.

Nursery/Toddlers: Care provided in the Nursery/Toddler room beginning at 8:30 AM

Preschool/Pre-K: Class provided in Room 112 beginning at 8:30 AM

**Kindergarten – 5th grade: Meet together in Room 110, after family worship, for opening and we will then break out into age-level classes (K-2; 3-5th grade girls; 3-5th grade boys)

6th-8th: Meet in the North Portable, after family worship, for class

9th-12th: Meet in the North Portable, after family worship, for class

Adults: No adult class option at this service

**SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS:  ALL children Kindergarten through 5th grade will need to be checked in by their parent(s) at the Registration Center in the Children’s wing BEFORE  going to class each week in order to receive their name tag and security number assignment.  Parents will then need to pick up their child(ren) in the classroom following the gathering.  For safety reasons, they will not be dismissed on their own.  Nursery through Pre-K will continue to be checked in at their classroom.

Café open for dinner each Wednesday 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Family Night begins each Wednesday 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Dinner:  As an alternative to serving a family-style meal, we have decided to offer the option for you to purchase dinner through Connections Café. We will have various, very affordable, menu options for you to choose from. (i.e., soups, sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, salad,  mac n cheese, etc..).  The café will be open at 5:00 PM each week and close at 6:00 PM so that our café volunteers can take part in Wednesday night activities.

Family night:   Begins each week at 6:00 PM with fellowship.  Nursery and preschool age children can be dropped off in their rooms and then in order to help us focus our hearts and minds, we will have a time of worship and prayer each week at 6:15 PM in the worship center, followed by classes for all ages.
