…for stopping by this new blogsite!
Yesterday, Virginia and I signed a contract with a Realtor to sell our home. It will be ready and listed by 13Dec. When we learn all of the listing information, we’ll paste it here so you can pray and pass it on to anyone you know that might want to buy a home in Indianapolis!
If you could step into our house, we think you’d feel the love and warmth of our family. We’ve made some wonderful memories here, and the Lord’s presence has been precious to us.
It’s been our privilege to host many friends in what the children have come to call "Spangler Inns and Suites." Several international guests have ’signed the guest book.’ Every Spring and Fall for the last four and a half years, the MELT (Missions Executive Leadership Team) has come to our home for a fun dinner and some wonderful singing and prayer together. We’ll miss seeing those friends as regularly as we have enjoyed their fellowship.
Walk into our kitchen area and you might trip over a box or two! Virginia and I brought home a van load full that I picked out of the warehouse at the World Ministry Center. Those boxes remind us that we’ll soon get to be with you!

Welcome to my newest blog! My "Perspectives" about Lakeside, this transition we’re in, and the future we’ll share together.
I noticed on the Lakeside website that there was a link to my main blog. Certainly there you’ll get a good idea about who I am, but I thought that it would be great to provide a place where I might let you in on a little bit more about me, our family, and how I am praying for God to work among us in the future.
You should know right away that I count it an incredible privilege to be selected as your next pastor. Of course, I understand that it is more than just a selection … in fact, Virginia and I and our children carefully and diligently sought the Lord about this important decision. I’ll be sharing more about that process in the future.
Some people wonder why in the world I do this ‘blog thing.’ For me it’s a spiritual discipline. I read and respond to the world in which we live. I try to engage the culture a bit; challenge others to think ‘missionally’ (more on that later); and finally, it’s my journal. So if no one read it, I’m all good with it because here I’m simply expressing my thoughts to my Heavenly Father.
Still –I invite you along for a while. Listen in. Stop by every day, or once a week. I’ll be posting regularly. And feel free to leave a comment, or ask a question! I may even post the Question and the Answer right here!
On the Journey,
Eric
